It’s something we take for granted.

But why, we practically do it everyday. What we do not know is that we may be doing unduly damage on our most treasured tresses. It is but important that we know proper hair wash.

To begin with, even before you start washing your hair you should already be practicing some precaution. To avoid worsening the tangles, you should make it a habit to comb your hair before you start wetting it. Because it is not a part of your usual routine, there is a big chance of you forgetting to do it.

A good remedy is to hang a comb in your bathroom.

After you have rid your hair of unwanted tangles, it’s time to run under the shower and wet it thoroughly. For better results, it is advisable that you wash hair starting with warm water and ending with cold water. Warm water opens your hair’s cuticle for a better cleaning. The cold water, on the other hand, closes the cuticle for an increased shine.

Take some extra care in rinsing your hair, as you need to get rid of the products that have accumulated on your hair from your previous styling. Use your fingertips to gently stroke you hair while rinsing.

When applying shampoo, simply pour about a spoon-sized amount on your palm. After which you rub your hands together before applying the shampoo to your hair. Make sure to apply the shampoo only on the scalp, not up to the tips of your hair as this could weaken your mane. You don’t want those unsightly split-ends forming on your locks. Also, you don’t want to fix your hair all up in a bun while lathering, as this will get your tresses all tangled up.

Every now and then, shampoo your hair twice. The first shampoo should rid your hair of unwanted oil and dirt, making your hair more viable for treatment. This is where the second shampoo comes in handy. Be sure to leave it on for a few minutes for better results. Rinse hair thoroughly after.

Finally, squeeze excess water out. Be gentle. Do not put unduly pressure while pulling and tugging. You may not know it, but hair is more delicate soaked than dry. This requires for some extra precaution. After squeezing your hair, apply a small amount of conditioner. Be sure to touch all the length of your hair, from the hairline, along the nape, and up until the ends. Then cover your hair with a shower cap and let it stay for about ten minutes. Rinse off thoroughly.

You may be spending much on hair treatment but neglecting the important process of washing your hair. This is a big mistake. Start the habit of proper hair wash now.
