Washing tips for your feet are aplenty.  These can minimize problems like cheesy feet, athlete’s foot, and other problems hounding the average guy.  Unlike the face, which receives much attention and care, the feet are the most punished and neglected parts of the body.

There is no reason to ignore the feet just because these are hiding inside shoes most of the time.  The 28 bones and 35 joints in the feet carry us daily over thousands of miles each year that we live.  Is this not enough reason to love our feet?  Healthy feet means happy feet, and happy feet equals good health.

Here are some washing tips for your feet you can share with the family.

  • When washing the feet, soap in-between toes.
  • Use a nailbrush while you are soaping each toenail, this will remove any debris or dirt collecting between the nail and the skin.
  • Use the prescribed medicated soap as directed if you are treating your feet infections
  • If you have smelly feet soaking them in warm salted water, a tablespoon of rock salt will do fine
  • Use a pumice to clean the sides of your feet, but do it gently
  • Use a pumice to rub away dead skin from the soles of the feet
  • Wash your feet daily
  • Dry the feet well especially in-between toes

These washing tips will complement your feet care.  You can be adventurous though – you can wash your feet with softly scented oils (that is if you are not treating your feet for any skin problem).

Other skin care tips and washing tips for your feet include home remedies that have worked well are:

  • For wounds on the feet, try placing mashed heads of garlic – garlic is an antiseptic.  Dip the feet briefly and air dry.  Wipe in-between toes.  It may sting but this will minimize infection until you can get medical help.
  • Rub brown sugar mixed with honey on wet feet, the friction will exfoliate dead skin to make the skin softer.
  • Make sure that all expanse of the foot is rubbed well with pumice stone or homemade exfoliating concoctions.
  • While you are it buff the nails gently
  • Treat your feet to a mud bath regularly
  • You can massage your feet while at the bath

Armed with these washing tips for your feet, you can get more mileage from beautiful and healthy feet. Stop being the average guy with a host of feet problems.
