A lot of us make an extra effort to take good care of our skin, but sometimes we neglect to take proper care of our hair.

Good hygiene involves a regular routine of cleaning our whole body, and daily care of our crowning glory is definitely a part of this.

The most effective way to take care of your hair requires a daily habit of three simple steps (cleansing or washing, toning and conditioning) combined with regular and proper maintenance. Cleansing or washinghair involves shampooing the hair and scalp thoroughly in order to get rid of the dirt and oil that tends to build up on it. It is very important to always keep your scalp clean because a dirty scalp is often the primary breeding ground for bacteria, which causes hair and scalp disorders and infections.

After thoroughly cleansing or washing your hair and scalp, you can now proceed with the toning process. Toning of the hair involves the gentle massaging of the head and scalp which aids in the circulation of blood in this part of your body. This process can also be considered as your scalp’s exercise, which is regularly required in order to stimulate the growth of healthy hair. Conditioning is the final step to your daily hair care routine. It involves the application of hair conditioner which restores moisture to your hair. Hair tends to lose its moisture because of excessive or harsh cleansing, the use of hair products, or environmental conditions among other things. The conditioning process aims to restore hair’s original state of health by infusing it with moisture and by temporarily coating and protecting it.

Keep in mind that effective hair care can only be possible if you use the right products for your hair type. Most hair products are specifically designed for particular hair types, so it is crucial to know what your hair type is in order to choose the right product. Hair can be classified as dry, normal-to-dry, normal (or healthy), or dry. Nowadays, there is an abundance of hair products available for all these different hair types.

In order to preserve the healthy state of your hair, your daily habit of cleansing, toning and conditioning should be further reinforced by regular and proper maintenance. Brushing your hair is very helpful in stimulating your scalp and in freeing it of tangles, dead cells and dust. Refrain from using hair products that contain alcohol as this can accelerate the loss of hair moisture, which may eventually result to dry and brittle hair. As much as possible, avoid the sun, heat and the use of hot styling products on your hair and practice the habit of simply allowing your hair to dry naturally. Cutting or trimming your hair every four to six weeks gets rid of dry and brittle ends and keeps your hair healthy and shiny. Proper nutrition is also a big factor in keeping your hair in a perpetually healthy state. Eat a balanced diet and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
