Men Skin Care tips for Teens

Who says skin care is only for women? In this age when metrosexuals abound, men are also obnoxious about the overall health and condition of their skin.



Sometimes, men are more particular about skincare than women are.

Men's skin is different in structure and classification. Of course, it is natural that men's skin is more harsh and are less sensitive to the harsh environment compared to women's. Men are also particular about their skin because it affects the way the opposite sex sees them. You see, men also are particular and anxious about getting the attention and admiration of many people.

For men, skincare must start at the onset of their teenage years. Teenage boys should start being careful and particular about the overall health of their skin.



The age is puberty brings along a lot of changes, mentally, emotionally and physically to teenage boys. One common indication of the onset of adolescence is the existence and appearance of acne vulgaris or simply known as acne.

Acne is a skin infection that is characterized by swelling and redness. There are three common forms of acne, namely, zit, spots and pimples. Adolescents now know that the presence of acne in their skin is due to inappropriate and insufficient skincare. Thus, to be able to prevent the onset of such skin problems, teenage boys are advised to take note of the following simple, yet effective guidelines.

Have enough sleep everyday. When you were a kid, you were probably taught that kids need to complete eight hours of sleep. That teaching is still applicable as you enter your teen years. Teenage boys need to complete all eight hours of sleep daily. Doing so would not only invigorate the physical body and clear the mental state. The skin will glow more, would be smoother and would be free from acne.

Drink plenty of water and fruit juices everyday. There is nothing better that drinking about eight to ten glasses of water daily. Water reinvigorates the body and provides moisture to the skin. The body will also be able to cleanse its systems using water. Fruit juices are healthier and more nutritious alternatives to water.

Avoid stress. For sure, the teenage years are full of happenings and events that can be considered as stressful. When you are stressed, the blood flow, particularly those linked to the skin, is affected. As a result, the quality of the skin deteriorates. It becomes dry and becomes more susceptible to the attack of germs.

Start applying sunscreen especially when going out of the house. Teenage boys always want to have fun by going outdoors. Exposure to the harmful rays of the sun would damage the skin especially when the exposure is prolonged.

When there is acne, wash the face at least twice a day with soap and water. Do not do anything on it. Consult your dermatologist if you must. There might be special and effective treatments that could help you get rid of the skin problem.

Overall, men, especially those in their teens, should be more particular about skincare. Yes, it might not be very necessary but it would be better than to resent being careless in your later years.
