It is estimated that 90% of all skin aging manifestations are caused by prolonged and regular exposure to the sun.

There is an imperative need to protect the sun from the harmful sunrays that cause skin aging. Although aging of the skin is natural occurrence among aging people, there is so much one can do to slow down the process.

The skin needs to be protected from the harmful rays of the sun. The ultraviolet rays are the particular rays naturally present in sunlight that causes skin damage.

Because nowadays, the ozone layer in the atmosphere has depleted significantly, more ultraviolet rays are entering the atmosphere and are directly affecting people.

There is no way anyone can get free from getting or being exposed to ultraviolet rays, not unless he or she will stay in a dark room. Even without the direct sunlight, it has been found that even the broad daylight contains amounts of ultraviolet radiation.

You know that sunlight burns the skin and makes it appear darker. When the skin is burnt, there is a greater possibility that it would be more susceptible to the skin aging process. The skin would also dry out and would be lacking moisture.

Reduce exposure to direct sunrays. As mentioned above, the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun make skin aging more evident even during the younger years.

Apply sunscreen protection in the face and in the exposed areas of the body prior to an outdoor activity. Some dermatologists advise to use such products when leaving the house, even if you are not into doing strenuous outdoor activities.

Always wear sunscreen when leaving the house. Choose products with higher sun protection factor (SPF) especially when going outdoors. Doing so would help protect the skin from the harmful ultraviolet rays coming from the sun, which is major factor for aging manifestations in women.

Other than that, there is also the emergence of sun protection clothing. These apparels are now widely available in the market. Like the sunscreen, the principal function of the sun protection clothing is to block out ultraviolet rays and prevent them from directly attacking the exposed skin of a person. Like sunglasses, which protect the eyes from extreme light from the sun, sun protection clothing also helps the skin retain coolness and overall comfort.

Facial moisturizers could also be of great help when trying to offset the onset of skin aging. The products could help retain and boost moisture in the skin, eventually leading to a smoother, more flawless and healthier skin.

The skin is the largest organ in the entire body. It is also the most exposed. You should strive to take well care of it or suffer irreversible consequences when you get older. The skin is the most noticeable part of the body and is the venue of the onset and signs of aging. When the skin is healthy, skin aging is slowed down, and naturally, the person could look younger than his or her age. Don’t you like it?
