Constant exposure to the sun’s heat is the major reason why the skin is damaged, and ages prematurely.

You will be able to keep the youthful glow and health of your skin when you avoid too much UV rays. For proper skin care, this might mean lessening the days at the beach or wearing long sleeves in order to protect your self. Spending less time outside your home during the day will help your skin’s smoothness; and beauty.

However, when the matter of too much exposure to the sun comes up, there is a tendency that the deficiency due to the lack of vitamin D will also come up. Vitamin D deficiency is a severe medical problem, leading to chronic imbalance.

This is a condition wherein the proper absorption of phosphorus and calcium is blocked. When you are affected with this, you are also likely to be suffering from bone deterioration. You can avoid the development of this problem when you are provided with enough sunlight, and Vitamin D supplements.

Vitamin D is a hormone which is called as calcitrol in medical terms. Due to sun exposure, your skin will undergo negative changes due to the UVA and UVB light. These might include: the modified biochemistry of your DNA, disorders to the membranes of your cells, and negative effects to your amino acids and proteins. You will know that you are developing a reaction to the harmful rays of the sun when your blood vessels dilate.

Other than the aforementioned problems, too much exposure to the sun’s heat also causes other types of medical conditions. 90 % of skin cancer cases are due to this factor. Within the United States, there is an increasing rate of this cancer type. In order for you to avoid this, you should provide your self with adequate amount if Vitamin D. You can get this from food sources like; salmon, cod liver oil, and mackerel. You should also have supplements, and constant sunscreen application.

The foundation on skin cancer advises that skin care tips, regarding protection from the sun’s harmful rays, should be started as early as childhood. With the following guidelines, you will be able to prevent the development of skin cancer and premature signs of aging:

  • Keep your self protected from the sun’s UV rays.
  • When you are always under the heat of the sun, avoid wearing scents. These will lead to hyper pigmentation and burning.
  • You should refrain from going out from 10 AM to 3 PM, even if you are wearing sun block. It is during these times when the sun’s heat is most harmful.
  • Prevent the use of sun lamps and tanning booths.
  • Keep off from the sun’s reflected light on the water, sand, snow, and cement. These can still lead to problems.
  • When you are not always exposed to the sun, your sunscreen should be SPF 8. On the other hand, when you are always exposed, you should have SPF 15 protection.
