At one glance, aromatherapy as a treatment for hair loss seems unbelievable!  Who would have thought it to be an answer to a problem like this? As we all know, researchers are constantly on the lookout for the answers to hair loss in the field of science.

On the other hand, people who have hair loss problems should be grateful to the trend now of going to the basics such as utilizing various herbs and essential oils, which our ancestors did, to treat bodily ailments and even hair loss!

Aromatherapy is a natural way of healing the mind and body by way of using concentrated plant extracts and essential oils. This has been proven to provide health benefits when applied properly and carefully.

The use of essential oils in treating hair loss or alopecia has attained recognition with the success of various experiments conducted in this regard. Aromatherapy oils like cedar wood, lavender, rosemary and thyme played vital roles in the treatment. So how did they do it?

As proven to be effective by a group of dermatologists at Aberdeeen Royal Infirmary in Scotland, they tried to mix three drops each of lavender and rosemary oil to two drops each of cedar wood and thyme oils. Then, they put in four tablespoons of grape seed oil and one quarter-teaspoon of jojoba oil.

Afterwards, they rubbed this mixture into the scalp for two minutes every night, wrapping the head afterwards with a warm towel.

For those who want to give life to their hair, using essential oils could bring back your once healthy and vibrant hair. Rub into your scalp a mixture of lavender and bay oils as this will aid blood flow and circulation in the scalp. After 20 minutes, shampoo your hair or you could also pour in four drops of bay oil to your shampoo before applying it to your hair.

There are also additional treatments for hair problem other than oils aromatherapy. Add two drops of your chosen essential oil to either water or vegetable oil and massage it to your scalp. Wrap your hair with a cling film followed by a warm towel. This should stay in your hair from two to three hours or overnight for maximum result. Use mild shampoo in washing your hair as it doesn’t damage the sebum balance of your hair.

This process does not produce overnight results. You might expect for massive hair growth after one or two treatments.  Bear in mind that this requires repeated use to come up with your desired result. Moreover, aromatherapy and scalp massage will not only give you fuller and healthier hair but will provide you the right solution to bring back its lushness and beauty.
