There are some people who love the way their curly hair frames their faces.

On the other hand, there are also some individuals who don't like the way it snags on their brush. When you are among the latter, you do not have to worry anymore.

Recently, there is a trendy new method of straightening your annoying curls. This is called thermal reconditioning, a treatment which will allow you to turn your wavy mane shiny and smooth. If you want long lasting results, then this is the most perfect solution.

This treatment is also known as Japanese hair straightening. This is called as such since the idea come from Japan, and brought to the other countries of the world. It has become increasingly popular because it is effective and the results last long. The effects remain for one cycle, wherein after that, you have to have your hair treated again. With the growth of new curls, you need the treatment once more. This is usually applied four to six months after the new growth is completed.

This hair straightening treatment is made up of thioglycolic acid salts. Examples of these types of salts would be calcium thioglycolate and ammonium glycolate. The irony with these compounds is that these are used to curl straight hair, during the past. Now, these are utilized to straighten out curls.

Thioglycolic acids work by breaking down cystine proteins. These proteins are found within the tissue layers of your hair shaft. They contain sulfur which helps with the formation of chemical bonds that are made up of disulfide. In turn, the bonds strengthen keratin protein which is needed in order to compose hair fibers. When the proteins are destroyed, your hair will be shaped according to your choice.

You have to know that there are other types of hair texture which should not be applied with the treatment. If you used to bleach your hair, then Japanese hair straightening is not an option for you. The effects of chemical bleaching are not balanced. If you have your hair treated with thermal conditioning, the results will not be balanced also.

After you go through with the treatment, you have to follow certain steps in order to care for your hair. The first thing that you have to do is to roll your hair and its ends with a rounded brush. If you forget this, your tress will end up looking like a broom. When it comes to your hair conditioner and shampoo, you should opt for products which are specially formulated to care for hairs which have been treated with chemicals.
