Men from the world over in civilized locales often go through the daily ritual of shaving off the day's growth of hair on their face with the use of a razor and some shaving cream. This shaving cream, which more usually now comes in a spray can, is spread on the face of the person in question with the use of a shaving brush that is made of any of a few possible materials. The use of a shaving brush when spreading shaving cream on the person's face before shaving, as compared to spreading it on with the use of the fingers, is said to help in letting the hair follicles of the person's facial hair absorb more moisture to facilitate a smoother and more clean shave.

The use of shaving brushes in the daily shaving ritual that men often go through actually is beginning to fade away.

This may be due to the rather fast paced life that a lot of people now lead and the use of a shaving brush when spreading the cream on one's face seems to have become the victim of modern times.

There are a few people, however, who still enjoy a leisurely shave that encompasses the use of all the old fashioned gadgets that have been used since the act of shaving became popular among men and these are the people who still use the shaving brush, the shaving cream that they have to foam up themselves in their little foam cups and the old fashioned razors that do not need electricity or batteries for them to cut hair.

The choices that men have when it comes to shaving brushes include synthetic hair and real hair. Classic shavers, as men who use the old fashioned means of shaving off their facial hair are called, can choose from a variety of shaving brushes that are available to them. While the most common and probably the cheapest option they can choose are the synthetic shaving brushes, there are those who do not want to compromise their classic shaving experience with the use of these fake hair brushes. The people who stick to the tried and tested classic shave experience often use natural hair brushes that are either made of badger or boar hair. While a boar bristle brush is one of the natural hair choices for a shaving brush, the more popular choice is the badger brush that comes in a few notable choices.

A badger brush that is made for shaving is classified according to where the hair is taken from and is also priced accordingly. The more common shaving brush made out of badger hair usually takes the material from the underbelly of this animal and is called pure badger. This is the coarsest of the badger hair choices when it comes to shaving brushes. The next kind of badger brush you can find is the best badger followed by the super badger, which varies in softness and pliability by certain degrees as compared to the more common pure badger brushes. The rarest and most expensive of the badger brush family is the silvertip badger which is made of silver tipped hair bristles that absorb more water and can be had for as much as $500 each from some of the best shaving brush manufacturers around.
