The idea of clean-shaving for men in their facial hair and the body hair for women can be practically done easily but sometimes the angular cuts in the hair can cause skin irritations. These reddish skin impurities are called razor burns. They appear to be red rashes around the shaved hair and may look like acne in a glance.

Razor burns can actually disappear without you noticing it some few hours after shaving. But in some isolated cases where the razor burns are a bit severe, the natural healing will take for days.

There are however tried and tested prevention tips so that razor burns are rid off the proper way. To begin with, a pre-shaving facial wash must be applied in the areas where the shaving will take place. You would not want to surprise your skin right away with a razor blade, so the pre-shave facial wash will prepare your skin for the shaving process. This facial wash is a technically a lightweight soap which does not in any way dries up during the act. It is so designed for the skin type of men that is why this daily cleanser is unscented. It is a fact that men are so picky about fragrances in their cosmetics.

After the pre-shaving treat, you can actually use the shaving cream gel of your compatible skin type or use a unique shaving oil that will bring color to your typical shaving action. The cosmetics stores today have a variety of shaving oil that has botanical elements like avocado and peppermint oils to name a few. This shaving oil is ideally a wonderful cosmetic aid that gives an excellent glide of the razor on the skin area hence the chances of razor burns is diminished.

The more typical shaving cream also does great wonders to the skin. After a warm bath or a treat from a pre-soaked cloth in warm water, the shaving cream is lathered accordingly to the facial hair area and is intentionally left until it sets the skin and hair soft and ready for the easy shaving. Because of possible abrasions prone to shaving, it is best to know the types of scent or variant of shaving cream that works well with your skin. Harsh chemicals in the shaving cream might result to itchiness and red rashes. In the market today are shave creams that low-foam creams that comes in the classic and or neutral scents.

A common grooming mistake of most men is that he simply ends the shaving session with the last set of facial hair. But on the contrary, there is one more thing that need not be overlooked—men’s aftershave. The shaving routine must end up sealed and cleanly finished with an aftershave treat. When the facial hair is completely rid from the unpleasant sight, the skin dries too soon. The exposed areas become sensitive so that washing it with soap may be too harsh. The physician suggests using an aftershave lotion or cream that is compatible to the skin type and the ones that come unscented to finally moisturize the shaved areas so that no skin itchiness abrasions are left making the skin susceptible to razor burns.
