Body sugaring is cheaper and alternative way for body hair removal.

Body sugaring differs from waxing since the principle of body sugaring is to keep removing body hair until the root area for when it grows back there would be less of it and the hair strand would be softer and not stubby which occurs when a razor is used instead.

Body sugaring is inexpensive and can be done at home.  All one needs are some ingredients to make the ‘sugaring’ solution, a few strips of cloth, a thermometer and some basins to hold the mixture. Body sugaring can be messy so it is advisable to protect the floor with plastic or newspapers before proceeding.

The recipe is very simple to remember.

A few cups of white sugar, less than a cup of water, some and lemon juice and the batch is enough to cover the entire body. To make the final salve, all the ingredients are mixed together and brought to a boil so that all ingredients are successfully dissolved and mix together.

The next step would be to transfer the not so hot mixture into a jar to let it cool off a bit then apply generously to the area that has the unwanted hair.

After applying to the desired removal area, strips of cloth are placed over the mixture so that they absorb the both the mixture and the hair so that when the mixture is cooled and the strips pulled out, the hair is removed as well.

It may be noted that this procedure is also less painful than waxing and most of the time removes the hairs without leaving any bruise or pain behind.

After the deed is done, some women may expect redness on the area that had the hair removed. If the woman’s hair was a bit thin or fine, there would not be much redness but if the hair was a bit thick, then expect the redness to last longer, few hours at the most.

Evidences of references of hair removal can be traced all the way back to the time of the Egyptians and Grecians.

In early writings from Mesopotamia speak of clean and smooth maidens being brought to the kings as gifts. The clean and smooth maidens referred to maidens who where without body hair.

In Egypt, the cleanliness of the servants were determined by how ‘hairless’ they were or the less hair, the better.  During the time of the Turkish empire, the removal of body hair was an art in itself and the methods of doing so were handed down from generation to generation.
Certain tribes in Arabia still continue the practice of total body hair removal especially on a couple’s wedding night. For women who would want an alternative and also painless way to remove body hair, body sugaring offers a painless and cheaper way of doing so. The beauty of the sugaring is in its mixture which may be modified to a persons needs. It is also advisable to do the hair removal with a friend for there may be areas of the body that one cannot reach like the back of the legs area.
