Choosing the Right Foundation Shade for your Skin

For centuries, women have used all kinds of makeup to enhance their beauty or even for some sort of fashion.

Today, the cosmetic industry has already increased the production of this kind of beauty products into a multibillion-dollar industry. From lipsticks to eye shadows to eyebrow pencils to foundation, these products are being used by a lot of people anywhere in the world.

Purchasing these kinds of products is quiet easy.

You can buy makeup from the pharmacy or even from grocery stores. First of all, you have to buy your foundation, it is a liquid makeup, and it provides the base color to most women. Since there are a lot of stores that sell lipsticks or eye pencils, the right place for buying your foundation is from a department store. Their makeup personnel are more experienced and know exactly what kind of foundation suits your skin type, application techniques, and skin tones.

The first thing you must consider in purchasing your foundation is that you have to know what kind of foundation fits your skin type. If you are a bit unsure of what best describes your skin type, try to ask some opinion from the makeup consultant at the beauty counter. The makeup consultant will tell you if you have a dry, oily, or flaky skin and will suggest what kind of foundation suits your skin type.

When you already know your skin type, you can now decide which foundation product suits your needs. Oil control foundations are best used for people with oily skin conditions. If you have a dry skin, moisturizing and hydrating foundation formula can be a good choice. A person who has the combination of skin types, the best thing to do is buy foundation formulas that would control both dryness and oiliness.

Apply your foundation shades in any part of your face along the jaw line. These skin areas will tell you what type of makeup color you need to apply. Never apply your makeup on your hands or wrist because it is not the optimal area that best determines the foundation’s color or tone. When applying your foundation, try to use the natural light like the sunlight; it will determine if the foundation formula blends with your skin.

When you are shopping for your new foundation, try not to wear any makeup. By having a clean face before trying any makeup, you can apply any kind of color foundations into your face. It is very important to determine your skin tone because it will help in choosing the perfect foundation as the base for your makeup. A foundation that has rosy undertones is perfect for a person that has a fair skin while foundations that has yellow-based in color is best for persons who have darker complexions.
