The eye is another vital organ that needs care.

It doesn’t matter what the weather is, the eye has to be protected also. This means not only the internal part of the eye matters, but also the external part, which is the skin that surrounds it.

The skin surrounding the eye‘s highly sensitive since it’s exposed to all sorts of dirt and debris, the weather or climate change, and of course the health condition of the person. Here are some eye care and skin care tips on protecting and taking care of your eye.

To prevent irritation and infection, avoid rubbing your eyes. Always wash your hands before touching the eye area.
Sleep with a pillow under your head for at least 7 - 8 hours to reduce dark circles forming around the eye. The slight elevation will prevent fluids from accumulating the eye area thus preventing dark circles from forming.
Using eye cream can also help in keeping the skin area moist preventing dryness. For less pressure in applying the cream use the ring finger.
Using cotton pads soaked with chilled milk lay them on the eyes for 10mins for relaxation after Googling all day and night.
Sliced cucumber has always been the most popular when it comes to eye care. Another vegetable in use is the potato. Just grate this with its skin and leave on the eyes for 20mins to have firmer skin muscles around the eyes.
Avoid wearing your contact lenses for long periods of time giving unnecessary strain to the eye’s skin.
Massaging the scalp with yoghurt can reduce temperature around the eye also reducing the redness and itchiness of your eyes.
Wash your face gently with cold water to freshen up and to avoid damage to the cornea.
When applying makeup, use a cream based eye makeup. Also, the mascara must be used only for a year to avoid weakening the eye skin.
A 15 feet distance is necessary when watching television to avoid weakening the eye skin muscles. Reading a book also would require a two-foot distance.
When wiping a tear or debris or dust particles from the eye, use disposable tissues, as these are more hygienic for a sensitive skin.
