  • Always keep the feet clean and dry
  • Daily bathing and foot massage  
  • Wipe in-between toes to prevent bacteria to accumulate
  • Use clean socks daily
  • Do not use shoes and other footwear of other people
  • When buying shoes, buy them in the afternoon when your feet have expanded to its largest, you will be getting better fit.
  • Test the fit of the shoes by walking around and check if your feet can breathe  
  • Wear comfortable shoes
  • Go barefoot once in a while
  • When lying down put your feet up for 30 minutes to improve blood circulation to the feet
  • Exercise your feet by wiggling your toes or arching your feet
  • Grip marbles with your toes to tone feet muscles
  • Always go to a podiatrist if you suspect something wrong with your feet
  • Get medical attention if you have foot infections
  • In trimming nails never trim the edges or you may have grown ingrown nails
  • If you have been hiking, let your feet rest before soaking it in the lake.
  • If your work requires you to sit for long hours, get up and walk around to let the blood circulate.
  • After a good massage, rub petroleum jelly on the soles and put socks overnight, they will emerge soft and silk the next morning
  • Avoid excessive alcohol and smoking
  • Exercise regularly
  • For infants, choose flexible and roomy shoes.
