After a woman gives birth to her infant, she may go through more than postpartum blues.

Aside from bouts of depression, she may also go through hair loss. As a mom, you may think that this condition only happens to cancer patients. However, several mothers also go through a period after their pregnancy wherein they will experience hair fall out. This may come gradually, right after or even when you are pregnant.

The major cause for this problem is the release of certain hormones during your pregnancy.

Another reason to postpartum hair loss dilemma would be the lack of nutrition and sufficient care for the body and the hair. The tendency when you are nursing your infant is that you become so engrossed with looking after him or her, that you forget taking care of yourself altogether. When your hair does not receive proper care, the hair follicles will get damaged due to fewer nutrients.

Experiencing hair loss after pregnancy is typically noticed within various periods. It may come after parturition, or it may appear once you stop nursing your infant. On the other hand, it may also occur 6 months after you deliver your baby. If this is your second or third pregnancy, you may have gone through this. But when you have just given birth to your first child, you may think that the situation is a very scary one. Maybe you have felt dread once you see thick hair strands sticking to your comb, or ending on the bathroom floor. When this happens to you, you have nothing to be extremely concerned about.

When you are losing hair, the most affected areas would be near the ears, the temples and your hairline. Even so, you should not treat this as a huge problem since this will only add to your depression. You should look on the brighter side, and think of this situation as a way to improve your beauty.

You can opt to have your hair cut if the amount of falling hair is a lot. When you go to a salon, the hairdresser will know exactly what to do with you. Since the people from salons are experts, they will provide you with a great hairstyle. Not only will you be able to cover the affected areas, you will also appear blooming. On the other hand, your hairdresser will also apply a tonic, which helps with adding volume to your thinning hair.

Or else, you can choose to be a funky or elegant mom. You can wear hairpieces like; bandannas, caps, hats or scarves. These pieces will serve as a cover for your hair, until you are finally able to grow most of your hair back.

With these tips in mind, you don't have to worry about your hair loss any longer.
