There are many reasons why people acquire acne. Adolescents undergoing puberty are especially susceptible because of hormonal changes. Many develop acne even at an older age.

Women are most prone, especially during menopausal period and pregnancy. No thanks to surging hormones. Stress is another major cause of acne outbreaks.

Acne is a serious problem. They are not only debilitating to the person’s outside looks but also to how he or she feels on the inside. Many people who have acne are suffering from low self-esteem, causing some serious internal turmoil. Nobody has to put up with this. Herbal remedies offer a solution.

One effective acne treatment is the so-called Margosa. This herbal remedy makes use of fungicidal properties such as nimbidol and gidonon to cure skin problems like acne and eczema. Another natural remedy for acne problems is the Arctium Lappa, which is also used for eczema and even for the serious case of psoriasis. You can also use Basil, as an effective treatment. Basil is believed to hold the power to purify the blood and clear the skin in the process. This should cure you of the unwanted acne. The Chinese has such high faith in this herbal remedy that they believe that the soil it is planted on is enough to rid you of your acne.

The Indians, on the other hand, prefer sandalwood bark to solve the skin problem. In its paste form, this herbal treatment is effective in giving you smooth and clear face. As for the Aborigines in Australia (the natives of the land), they have found solace in the use of oleum melaleuca. Other herbal acne treatments available are Oleum Caryophylii (a well-known antiseptic in China), the Calendula Officinalis that is a true gift of nature for people suffering from acne. They are antiseptics and astringents in the most natural form. Another treatment worth mentioning is the Melaleuca Alternifolia, which also contains anti-septic properties that effectively drive off bacteria and fungus.

If your problem is the scars that have developed from a bad history of acne, you can also count on herbal remedies for a solution. Oleum Lavandula and Symphytum are most recommended on this area. They are so effective in skin regeneration that they are also used for more serious cases of burns and wounds.

No matter how people try to convince you that how you look on the outside is not the most important thing, you know pretty well what skin problems can do to your emotional well being. As thus, you should stop sitting idly by and solve your problem. It is not, after all, an impossible disease to cure.
