There is a saying, which goes, “your hair is your crowning glory”. This is very much true because your hair, as the rest of your face, attract attention. When other people look at you, your mane is among the first part of your body that they will probably notice.

If you are not particular with the proper way of taking care of it, it will look dry and untidy. It is true that you do not want people to think that you are vain, with so much prepping up on your do. However, doing this provides more than good impressions. This will also make your hair look nice, shiny and glossy.

Taking care of your crowning glory properly means using the right type of hair care tools. Using the wrong kind of comb or shampoo only brings damage to it. You should remember that when you want shiny and healthy hair, you should know which hairbrush is appropriate for you. The following are examples of much-needed hair care tools, along with information on which is ideal for you.

  • Combs and hairbrushes – if you are looking for a comb, choose one, which has wide teeth. This type is great for combing wet hair. When it comes to brushes, you should choose one according to the type of your hair. If you have curly or wavy locks, then opt for a brush, which has round bristles. On the other hand, if you have a long mane, opt for a paddle brush because this kind is suitable for styling without causing damage to your hair. When you are using hair dryer, use a vented brush, which has vents on its head to let heated air from the dryer pass through.
  • Shampoos – when you are looking for a shampoo that is ideal for you, your choice should be based on what is gentle on your scalp. If your hair is dry or oily, you need a product, which is made especially for your needs. It would be more preferable if you use shampoo regularly, in order for you to wash off dirt and pollutants that have stuck to your hair during the day. Prohibit from using shampoos, which contain alcohol, since this ingredient will only cause dryness to your hair.
  • Conditioners – this is very much needed when you dye, perm, straighten or use hot curlers, and blow dry your hair. This product will act as replenishment for the nutrients that have been lost during the process of dying or perming. It also acts as protection from the harmful chemicals of these processes. When using conditioner, apply only to the lower parts and not on the scalp.
  • Products for hairstyling – when you have thick hair, styling gel is appropriate for you. On the other hand, when your mane is fine, a mousse is ideal for you. Asking for the guidance of a hairstylist will enable you to know which style suits you best.
