Newborn Rash

Almost 50 %, of newborn babies have rashes in at least some form or the other. Thus, it is common and not a very serious thing. The cause that leads to the newborn rashes is not known until now. However, it may because the conditions in the womb are different from the outside world and the baby's skin may not be able to adjust itself to this change.

The newborn rash can develop in any part of the body. Usually in such a condition, the skin of the baby shows dry red patches which may be swollen as well. Often, they are associated with pimples as well. Generally, they last for about 7 to 14 days.

These rashes may make the baby feel uncomfortable. For treating it however, do not use the essential oils, or the baby creams and lotions available in the market. They can either worsen the problem or have some other side effects if the skin is sensitive towards them. Using the natural olive oil is a good solution to keep the skin moist. Also, avoid covering the baby with a cloth as many people wrongly do in such a condition. Let the skin air out a bit, which is very helpful in curing the rashes.
