Pediatric Skin Rashes

Pediatric skin rash is referred to as Atopic dermatitis or Atopic eczema. It is hereditary, but non-contagious skin disease. This occurs mainly in children and therefore it is called pediatric skin rash. It has been observed that the babies who have suffered from rashes on their skin or joints have a greater chance of developing it.

The skin of the patient suffers from chronic inflammation. It becomes sensitive to the environmental and other factors like the substances, which come in contact with it. If the skin is exposed to these factors, it becomes red, itchy and flaky. Moreover, all this makes it vulnerable to surface infections caused by bacteria. The common sites of this disease are the flexural surfaces of joints. Sometimes it is associated with diseases as hay fever asthma or conjunctives, etc.

The exact cause and mechanism of Pediatric Skin Rash is not known. Therefore, there is no complete cure of this disease. However, the symptomatic treatment is easy. The allergens, which trigger the symptoms, should be avoided. If the patient is not exposed to them, he will stay away from the symptoms. Moreover, drugs and topical applications are available which very effectively reduce the symptoms. The patients should also always protect their skin by using moisturizers, sun creams, etc.
