Pityriasis Rosea Skin Rash

Pityriasis rosea is a common skin disease. It appears as a skin rash. The main symptoms of rosea kin rash are dry skin rash that is scaly in texture and reddish pink in color. The appearance of the skin rash may differ from person to person. A person may get pinkish rash while other may get a dark red rash. The affected skin area may be very itchy for some people while for some it may be mild or not present at all. When this skin rash erupts only one red spot of about three inches becomes visible on the skin first and then the rest of the spots appear. This rash occurs mostly in the spring season and during the fall. This skin problem mostly affects the teenagers and the young adults than the other age groups. When this rash affects a person older than sixty years of age the rash can leave long term effects. The cause of this ash is generally considered to be unknown but the recent scientific study has found evidence that the herpes virus may be responsible for it. The treatment for rosea is very limited. Patience is the best treatment as the rash subsidizes after a couple of months. If this condition continues for more than three months then a doctor must be consulted.
