Scaly Skin Patches Causes
A rash is a common skin problem. It can affect the people of any age and gender. A skin rash is a condition in which the skin changes color and texture. Sometimes it may become dry, inflamed, blistered and cracked. There are many causes of skin rash such as allergy, anxiety, fungal, bacterial or viral infection, etc. similarly there are numerous types of rashes like scaly and itchy, only itchy or only scaly. The type of rash differs according to the cause. Amongst them the scaly rash is more often seen. The scaly skin rash is of two types. Some scaly rashes are caused by fungal or bacterial infection like ringworm which causes the appearance of scaly spots on the arms legs and torso. Another bacterial infection which leads to the appearance of scales on the skin is impetigo and it s caused by staph or strep germs. This condition is more common in children than in adults. Poor hygiene has no role in the eruption of this type of scaly rashes. The other type of scaly rashes is the one which is not caused by fungal or bacterial infection. Scaly and itchy patches on the skin generally refer to one of the conditions called eczema. Atopic dermatitis and contact dermatitis are the rashes which appear as scales on the skin. Though these rashes are seldom dangerous to life but evaluating them at home is not a good idea, it is better to consult a doctor.
