Skin Treatment for Acne
Acne is a skin condition, which is, characterize by pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, redness, etc. It is a chronic skin disorder. It affects all the types of skin. It forms under the skin and hence just washing the face is not an effective treatment. It is neither prevention nor a cure. It is a myth that a person who does not wash often gets acne. Gentle washing of the acne skin is very important. However, one should avoid washing it very hard as it may cause damage to the blackheads and white heads and may worsen the condition of the skin. A mild cleanser like Cetaphil or acne cleanser like aveeno acne bar or Neutrogena acne wash or benzoyl peroxide 5% bar can help in treating the acne. Exfoliation helps in removing the layer of dead cells on the skin. Hence after cleansing the face with a cleanser one should exfoliate it with a facial scrub at least twice a week. This takes care of the dead skin cells and the debris, which clog the pores of the skin. In order to avoid dry skin, clogging of skin pores and sunburns one should take care that the cosmetics, lotions, sunscreens she uses are totally oil free. There are many medications like, retin-A, accutane and several antibiotics to treat acne. Now a days surgery is also an option to treat severe forms of acne.
