This type of rash is common in childhood. This kind of rash is caused by many reasons. A rash may develop near the mouth during winter. This rash makes the skin around the mouth red and there is a burning sensation in the affected area. The children find it irritating and try to pacify the burning sensation with the help of the tongue. This is a bad option as it spreads the rash. The other causes of rash around the mouth are drooling, pacifiers, allowing smeared food to remain on the mouth for a long time and rubbing the face against their parent's clothes.
