Just as food nourishes your body, it can also be used to nourish your skin. Due to overexposure to sunlight, harsh cosmetics and pollutant particles, your skin can lose essential nutrients causing it to look dull and lifeless. You can use various foods to replenish lost nutrients and restore a healthy glowing complexion.
Just as cosmetics are skin type specific, most foods that are used in facials and skin treatments are skin specific too. This classification is made according to the properties a fruit or vegetable possesses. If you have dry skin, you can use a nourishing face mask made out of bananas and coconut milk. This mask will restore lost nutrients and more importantly natural essential oils. If you have sensitive skin you can use a little bit of mango juice along with a little mashed cucumber. This will help to replenish nutrients without irritating your skin or making it oily. For normal skin you can use a little mashed apple along with a little carrot juice. Oily skin generally poses more problems as it is prone to acne and pimples. Use a face pack made out of Chickpea flour and a few drops of lemon juice. This will help to reduce the amount of sebum your skin produces.
