What vitamins are good for getting beautiful skin?

Although it is impossible to pin point a single vitamin that can be considered to be the most important for healthy skin, vitamin A, vitamin B complex, vitamin C, and vitamin E are considered to be essential. Vitamin A helps to strengthen skin tissue and is also responsible for the repair of damaged skin tissue. It also helps to regulate sebum production and prevent acne. Vitamin A is a powerful antioxidant and helps to decrease and eliminate wrinkles. The best sources for vitamin A are egg yolks, oysters and carrots.

Vitamin B complex improves blood circulation and metabolism and helps to maintain a healthy, even skin tone. It is essential for the smooth functioning of the immune system and anti body production. It also helps fight acne. A poor intake of vitamin B complex often causes dull or scaly skin. The best sources of vitamin B are poultry, bananas, peanut butter and eggs.

Vitamin C helps to stabilise collagen and is thus vital to the healing process. Vitamin C can also be applied directly to the skin to reduce wrinkles and repair damage caused by prolonged sun exposure. The best sources for Vitamin C are citrus fruits, tomatoes and green peas.

Vitamin E is essential for moisturisation of the skin, with the best sources for vitamin E being, legumes, almonds and leafy vegetables.
