A skin rash is a common skin disorder. The skin rash may affect any part of your skin. Most of the rashes appear on the face, arms or legs, but there are many which occur on the trunk i.e. on the parts like torso and abdomen. It falls in the category of generalized rashes. If not treated properly they may spread to the other parts like the arms, legs and the face. An example of rash which occurs mainly on the trunk is pityriasis rosea. It is a common, self-limited rash that generally affects healthy teenagers and young adults. It appears to be very dangerous and becomes a cause of concern to the affected but it generally disappears on its own. The cause of this rash is unknown. It mostly affects the people between 10 to 35 years. It rarely reoccurs and is generally the worst in the cold months. It affects the people of all types of races equally. The rash very often starts with a 2 to 10 cm round or oval shaped lesion which is called a herald patch. It may erupt anywhere on the body but most of the times it erupts on the trunk. The herald patch generally resembles a ringworm rash. Within some days more lesions start appearing on the trunk. There are many other rashes which affect the trunk like the chicken pox.
