Many factors can cause a skin rash. Viruses are one of the many causes of a rash formation. Just like a fungal or bacterial rash, viral rashes too change the color of the skin, its texture, causes inflammation and red bumps appear on the skin. Thus, we see that the common symptoms of a viral rash are similar to any other rash. Many diseases have their first symptom as a viral rash. A well-known disease, chicken pox is caused by a virus and begins with red itchy blisters on the face, chest and back, which spread downwards. They are followed by fever, aches, sore throat, cough and tiredness. Chicken pox has no cure as it gets cured on its own. However, anti itch cream are applied to reduce the itching of the red bumps. Shingles is another rash, which is caused by a virus. The virus causing shingles is the one, which causes chicken pox. Unlike chicken pox it affects only one part of the skin. The affected part appears to be red and there erupt crusty blisters, which are very painful. Fifth disease is another rash, which is caused by viruses. Thus, viruses are an important cause of skin rash.
