Since you have not made any mention at all of the skin problem that you are suffering from, it is impossible to recommend any specific treatment, whether aromatherapy or any other method. It is also not possible to say whether aromatherapy will help. In general, there is not much scientific evidence to show that aromatherapy works. At best, what it seems able to do is help a person relax. In cases where aromatherapy does work, it is usually because of properties of the chemical compounds that make up the oils, herbs, or other substances being used. Strictly speaking, this is not aromatherapy, as the effect has nothing to do with the aroma of the substances used.
As far as this goes, some substances used in aromatherapy may be useful for skin problems if they are applied to the skin. However, as mentioned before, this is not really aromatherapy. Depending on the results you want, you can simply apply an oil or any other substance to the skin, and whether or not there is any aroma, the substances will have some effect. For most minor skin problems, aloe gel and vitamin E oil are extremely useful. For a more severe problem, you need to provide more details or visit your doctor.
