A good diet is simply one that has the right balance of all the nutrients that the human body requires, with nothing lacking and nothing in excess. The human body basically needs adequate amounts of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats, as well as several minerals and vitamins. If this is done, you should be in good health, and if you are in good health, so is your skin. Beautiful skin is essentially healthy skin - illness, or even simply below par health, is what makes your skin look bad, sometimes by directly affecting the skin, and at other times indirectly. If your body is not properly nourished, you will not be in optimum health, and over a period of time, disease might also set in.
While meat and fat tend to have a bad name, they are not in themselves harmful - in fact, some amount of fat is necessary for the body, in order to properly absorb certain nutrients, and also to perform several other functions. As mentioned before, what is important is avoiding an excess or a complete lack of any nutrient. Fats that you can avoid however are trans fats, which have no benefits and several harmful effects. Apart from this, probably the only specific requirements that need mentioning are omega 3 fatty acids and fiber, both of which have huge health benefits.
