Caring for your skin involves a large number of things - there is no single, simple, "best way" to care for your skin. Among the more effective ways however are methods that work from inside, and on the whole body - such as diet and exercise. Most other methods are only temporary and cosmetic. What is more important is to ensure that your body is functioning well, and this will help your skin to be healthy too.
As far as your food intake is concerned, a good balance is essential, but it is particularly important to make sure that you get enough fruits and vegetables. Proteins and fats are also important, but neither should be taken in excess, particularly fats of course. It is also essential that you drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. Some amount of exercise is also necessary - even a half hour walk every day will do. In addition, make sure that you get enough rest; if you are tired, your skin will look the same.
At the same time, determine what type of skin you have - normal, oily, dry, or combination - and take care of it accordingly, by washing it adequately and moisturizing as and when necessary. Use only mild soaps, and avoid using too many unnecessary skin products.
