Getting a perm is not only expensive; it also involves exposing your hair to the harsh chemicals. An easier way of getting your hair curled is by altering or molding the hydrogen bonds in your hair. Altering them means forcing them into curls.
You have mentioned that you would like to curl the ends of your hair. For this you can use rollers. You should first wash your hair well. Then let it dry. Using a dryer is faster and you can choose this option. Dry your hair till only a little moisture remain. Now carefully divide the hair into various small sections. Roll each small section of your hair around a roller and pin it securely. You should remember that you can choose between large and small rollers depending on the kind of curls you want. If you want small, tightly curled hair, then you should choose the small rollers. For the hair at the back, you should use larger rollers. Secure the hair well with the rollers. Now you can let the hair dry naturally or you can use a dryer. If you choose to use a dryer remember to keep it on low heat or else the hot hair will blow out the curls that are just forming. Hair that is allowed to dry in the rollers looks more natural. When your hair is completely dry you can remove the rollers. Try to avoid combing through the curls too often since they may come undone at rough handling. You can use some spray to hold your hair in the curls that have formed. You can also use some kind of pomade or hair cream to ensure that your hair looks shiny and soft.
You can also use hot rollers if you want to curl your hair and are in a hurry. The advantage with hot rollers is that you can use them on dry hair. This saves you the bother of shampooing your hair, especially when you are rushed for time. Since these rollers use heat to create curls, they can be removed in a very short time.
