One the first steps in having great skin is to maintaining your body and keeping it healthy. This can be done by eating a proper diet. Once the body gets the required nutrients it can effectively carry out repair of the damage done to skin and hair due to the elements. Your diet for great skin should ideally contain foods that are rich in omega- 3 fatty acids- this can be found in fish like tuna and mackerel. Eat fruits and vegetables that are high in vitamin A and zinc. The vitamin A is found in foods like carrot, sweet potatoes and mangoes. zinc is found in foods like roasted pumpkin and beef.
The next thing that does not require too much effort is getting a good night's sleep. This helps to a large extent because as we sleep the skin rejuvenates itself by repairing damaged cells and shedding of dead skin cells. One should ideally get a minimum of six to seven hours of sleep a day. Make sure that you remove any kind of make up from your skin before you sleep as it can interfere with the skin's rejuvenation process. Get your self to exercise as much as possible as well because it does wonders for how you look and the way your skin feels. Avoid going out into the sun for too long as it damages your skin, if you must then make sure that you wear proper sunscreen.
