The first thing you should know about stretch marks is that once they appear, they will rarely go away. If you are looking for a miraculous cure that will remove your stretch marks completely, then you should be prepared for disappointment. No such cure exists and anyone who promises you one such cure is also not to be believed totally. Naturally, if you were to opt for invasive measures such as skin grafting and surgery, then you would be able to change the texture of your skin. This will also result in reducing your stretch marks. The best you can do with stretch marks is lighten them to a large extent. You can also try to use pre emptive measures so that they do not increase in number. This may be a positive step as well. It is important to understand that stretch marks are the marks of surface tears I the skin. When skin is stretched beyond its natural capacity, it tends to tear, like paper. The discoloration and marks you leave behind with this tearing process are what are commonly known as stretch marks. Just the way you cannot glue a piece of paper back together, you cannot do the same with your skin either.

One of the best ways to reduce stretch marks is to massage them. Just remember that whatever you do, you will have to do it on a daily basis. Vitamin E oil is the best thing to use for stretch marks. For that matter, vitamin E oil is the best product to use for any kinds of marks on the skin altogether. Try to massage the area that has the maximum and darkest stretch marks with this oil. It will work positively for you. Another excellent product to use is cocoa butter. This is available in many brands, but the generic product is excellent for reducing the darkness of stretch marks. A daily massage will also add to the flexibility of your skin. The more flexible your skin becomes, the lesser are your chances of getting more stretch marks. This is a simple equation. If the skin is more flexible, then it will have the capacity to stretch more without breaking. Thus you will not suffer as much. The simple basic of preventing stretch marks is to not allow your skin to go dry or undernourished at any point in time. This will make a difference and be of maximum help.
