Darkening of skin after the application of cream or oil is only a visual trick, and is entirely normal. The same way your hair (or in fact any other material or surface) looks darker when it is wet or oily, your skin also appears darker when it is oily. This does not mean that your skin itself has changed; the only change is in the way it reflects light. There is no need for you to worry about this phenomenon.

However, that said, it is not clear why you are applying cream to your skin at all, especially on a daily basis. If I have understood your question correctly, you have oily skin. If this is the case, you do not need to apply any kind of cream, oil, or lotion to moisturize your skin. Such products are meant for people who have dry skin, either due to the weather, or because their skin itself does not produce enough natural oil. In such a case, help is needed in order for the skin to properly retain sufficient moisture. Your skin already produces enough oil, and possibly an excessive amount of oil. Adding to this oil will only cause problems, and should be avoided.

There is no such thing as a dry cream that can be used on oily skin, and it is in any case not necessary for everyone to use a cream or other moisturizer. If you feel you need a moisturizer, you should use a thin lotion instead of a thick cream. The only thing you really need is to wash your skin regularly, although you should avoid using soap too often. Soap strips the skin of oil, and excessive use of soap will most probably cause your skin to compensate for this loss by producing more oil. Obviously, this too will result in your skin becoming oilier than it already is. Washing your face with soap once or twice a day should be enough; the rest of the time, plain water will do.

Most probably, even this will not be necessary - after stopping the daily use of a moisturizing cream, you should give your skin a week to return to normal. If it is still too oily, you can start washing several times day. If even this is not enough, you can use a home made exfoliating cream by mixing dried, ground orange peels with plain yogurt and gently scrubbing your face with this mixture.
