Pimples, also known as acne, are a very common affliction during one's teenage years when your body is going through very major hormonal changes. You could also be suffering from pimples because of your eating habits. You must ensure that you do not consume an inordinate amount of foods that are very high sugar or starch. You should also try and cut out the intake of oily food and seafood because some experts think that the oil in fish could aggravate pimples. If you wear make-up, investigate if it is your make-up brand that is causing the acne. This is because it is possible that your skin could be reacting to the oil in the make-up. You should then switch to a non-oil based brand of make-up. One of the best ways to combat pimples is to ensure that you wash your face regularly and gently. You can also try a warm compress to soothe the pimples - soak a soft cloth in warm water and gently hold it over your pimple for about 15 minutes. If simple remedies do not work, you should try over-the-counter medication that contains benzoyl peroxide. This will keep the infection at bay and will also promote the drying up of your pimple.
Since you have a problem with acne scarring as well, do not pick at your pimples because this will leave scars on your face. If you develop scars, apply aloe vera to the scars to help ensure that the scars do not become permanent. You can use olive oil or vitamin E for this purpose. It is also a good idea to apply honey on the scars regularly because the honey will help lessen the impact of the scars. It will also ensure that your skin looks well-moisturized. Drink at least two liters of water a day because your skin will then be well hydrated and less vulnerable to scarring. You can also put a few drops of the essential oils of lavender on a cotton ball and then dab it on the scars. As far as the color of your skin is concerned, if you are naturally dark, there isn't too much that you can do. If your skin is dark because of a suntan, you can mix some turmeric powder along with some lime juice and apply this on your face to reduce the tan. Ensure that you apply a good sunscreen while going out during the day. Employ a regular cleaning, toning, and moisturizing routine to ensure glowing, clean skin.
