Regain natural lip color

I had a bad habit of peeling dry skin on my lips from childhood. I stopped this long back my lips look dark and dry not natural in color or appearance any more. Please suggest treatment for getting my lips natural color back.

How long ago did you stop peeling the dry skin from your lips? It is unlikely that this would have much of an impact on the color of your lips, and even if it did, it is unlikely that the effects would last longer than a year or two at most.

Lip color is partly determined by the amount of melanin in them, and partly by their thickness. Melanin is the pigment that gives our skin its color, and the amount of melanin in your skin (whether it is the skin of your hands, your face, your lips, or any other part of your body) is determined primarily by your genes. In addition, exposure to sunlight causes skin to increase melanin production in the process known as tanning, and with more pigment in it your skin looks darker. The skin of your lips typically does not tan, so you can rule out exposure to sunlight as the cause of your dark lips. (Your lips can get sunburnt however, so it is important to protect them by using a lip gloss or lipstick that provides sun protection.)

It is possible that the constant peeling of skin from your lips has caused the skin in this area to grow a bit thicker than is normal. This may be the reason why your lips now look darker than they used to. Lips tend to look pink because the skin on them is thin, and it allows the blood vessels in the lips to be seen. Dark skinned people typically do not have pink lips because the melanin in their lip skin obscures the color of the blood vessels. If the skin of your lips is thick and it also has some amount of melanin in it, the lips will look dark. There is nothing that you can really do about this. At the most, you should continue to refrain from peeling the skin off your lips, so that the skin can grown normally again. If this past habit has caused your lips to darken, then they will eventually become light again as the skin returns to normal.

If you smoke tobacco or drink a lot of tea or coffee, you should stop or cut down. These substances sometimes seem to stain the lips, and if this is the case with you, you will notice a difference in color within a month or two of quitting.
