Dark spots are more easy to get rid of if you know why they have occurred in the first place. This is because there are various ways to get rid of various kinds of dark spots. There are no specific rules that would normally apply to all types of dark spots. For instance, if you have dark spots due to scarring, there would be different methods you would have to use to get rid of them. But if your dark spots are due to pigmentation, you would have to try a new batch of remedies altogether. Provided here are some basic and generic remedial measures you can use across the board, along with some specific ways to get rid of specific spots as well. For spots that have occurred due to no specific reason, you can try the process of exfoliation. This usually works most effectively. Use any exfoliating scrub that would be available off the shelf. However, make sure you buy one that is suited to your skin type. This would work better for you. you would need to dampen your legs first and then start scrubbing them with the exfoliating agent you have bought, do not apply excessive pressure as this is an abrasive substance. Instead, you should massage your legs in gentle circular motions, focusing specially on the areas where the spots are darkest.

If you have excessive dark spots due to pigmentation, then you should start applying a poultice made of fresh unflavored yogurt and gram flour. This can be left on till it begins to dry and then it should be scrubbed off with the palm of your hand. This will not only remove the top layer of excessively dry and dead skin, it will also lead to deep cleansing your skin very thoroughly. This will enable the dark spots to be removed effectively. But this method will take some amount of time. You would need to be patient and work towards it regularly. To remove dark spots caused by pigmentation, you can also apply a diluted mix of hydrogen peroxide and water. This will help by lightening your dark spots from the surface of your skin, as hydrogen peroxide is also a mild bleaching agent. As an alternative to hydrogen peroxide, you can also use organic apple cider vinegar. Dilute with equal parts of water for best results. Try these methods regularly for about a month or two in order to see visible results.
