One of the best things you can do with waist length hair is to leave it loose. This would work for you particularly if you have straight hair. It looks extremely good and will always be less of a bother, whichever ay you look at it. A quick blow dry will take care of the sheet like fall of straight hair too. If you have mid textured hair, which is somewhat wavy, then too you can leave it loose. A blow dry will work in this case too. Using a minimum hold moose will also take care of the volume for your hair. If you are looking for ways to tie your hair, then there are a couple of simple things you can do which will give maximum effects. Comb out your hair and gel it. This will add to the elegance of the look by making it neater and more streamlined. Part your hair from the middle. Take about a one inch thick strand of hair from both sides of your parting and twirl it around in your fingers. This will give the appearance of a tight curt. Hold this curl back close to your ears and then pin them to keep in place temporarily. Comb all your hair back to the nape of your neck. You can use a wide buckle to clip it back. Include the strands that have been left free after pinning as well. After you have tied all your hair, remove the clips. This will give the twirls closer to your face a slightly full look. The whole process should not take more than five minutes either.
Another very effective look is a small bun. But this would be more effective when you are going out for a formal evening. Simply make a small and tight bun at the base of your neck and use a horizontal buckle clip across it as an accessory. This is an extremely effective and elegant look. It will also draw attention to the long line of your neck. For a more casual look, you can also draw all your hair to one side and let it flow down. Use bobby pins to hold the other side in place. This will look elegant as well as slightly flirty. This look works particularly well if you have curly hair. If you want to, you can also hold your curls in place by using a loose hold spray.
