My hair fall seems to have increased quite a bit although I am not facing any stress or tension, could you please provide me with some quick home remedy as to how to control the hair fall if not stop it completely?

There are several simple hair care measures that you can implement and several precautions that you can take in order to avoid contributing to or causing hair loss, but there is no quick home remedy to stop or reverse hair loss. Also, stress and tension are not the only possible reasons for hair loss. If you have experienced a sudden and drastic increase in hair loss (a small amount of hair falls every day, and this is completely normal), then you need to consider other possibilities, such as a fungal infection, nutritional problems, a hormonal problem, or simply old age. "Old age" might not really be the right phrase, as age related hair loss can begin as early as thirty, or even in one's twenties. Usually, the process of balding in men begins only around the age of 35, and many people are lucky enough to have a full head of hair even at the age of 60. However, if it is in your genes, you may start balding even at the age of 20. This is not common, but it is certainly not rare. And unfortunately, this hair loss is usually the type that cannot be stopped or reversed. However, treatments for baldness today are more effective than they used to be even five years ago, and if the hair loss seriously bothers you, you can consult a hair specialist.

Fungal infections usually affect patches of hair, and since you have not mentioned any bald patches, this can probably be ruled out quite easily. You might want to examine your diet however - ensure that you are regularly eating a variety of foods, so that you get all the required nutrients. Eliminating any one type of food from your diet, particularly fruits and vegetables, can leave you with deficiencies that will cause hair loss. As for hormonal problems, you will probably not be able to detect them on your own, but if you have other symptoms that are unexplained, then you should consult your doctor.

Coming to hair care, you should first of all ensure that you are using a suitable shampoo and conditioner, at a suitable frequency. If your hair is exposed to a lot of dust and pollution you should wash it daily. If this is the case, you should also cover your hair whenever you are outdoors. Oiling your hair every night will also help, but be sure to wash it in the morning. Finally, always be gentle when drying and combing your hair - never comb your hair when it is wet, as it is certain to break.
