Your question is rather vague - where are these white marks and for how long have you had them? Are they completely white, or are they just a little lighter than the surrounding skin? Also, how large are they and how many of them are there? White marks can appear due to a large number of reasons, and all these factors would help identify their possible cause. In fact, the only way you will know for certain what the white marks are and how to get rid of them is if you visit a doctor for a check up. Without actually looking at your skin it will be almost impossible to diagnose what you are suffering from.

White marks could be vitiligo, also known as leukoderma, which is an autoimmune disorder that causes the loss of skin pigment. This loss of pigment usually begins at the extremities, and so the white patches usually first appear on the hands and feet. In some cases of vitiligo, the patches may stop growing after a while, but in other cases, they may continue to spread till almost all pigment is lost, all over the body. Unfortunately, there is no cure for vitiligo as yet. Some treatments are sometimes successful, but in the majority of cases, the only option is to live with the white patches. Fortunately, vitiligo does not really affect one's health, except for the fact that your skin is unable to protect you from UV rays, and you should therefore be very careful about exposure to sunlight.

White marks on the skin could also be some sort of fungal infection. In addition to the factors mentioned above, you have also omitted to mention whether there is any itching or similar symptoms on the white marks. If there is, then you are quite certainly suffering from a fungal infection. You may also be suffering from some sort of nutritional deficiency; this can sometimes cause skin pigment to be produced unevenly, leading to patches of lighter skin. There also causes that have nothing to do with pigmentation, such as livedoid vasculitis, which is actually a disorder of the blood vessels, but causes the skin to appear discolored.

On the other hand, you could simply be suffering from dry skin. If your skin is excessively dry, it will start to peel and flake, but before that patches of skin may appear whitish. However, as mentioned before, to be sure, you should get a doctor to take a look at your skin.
