The oldest reason in the world for white hair is also the most unarguable one. It is called age!! As we grow older, the skin loses its capacity to product as much pigmentation as is required to dye your hair and skin. The first part of the anatomy to be affected is the hair on the head. This is also because head hair requires the largest amount of pigmentation to get dyed in the first place. You need to examine if this is the reason your hair has turned or is in the process of turning white. If you are over 35 years old, then you will find that a few gray or white hairs here and there are not completely uncommon. This is totally normal, and there is no need to be alarmed by it. If you are younger than the age of 35 years and are suffering with a head of uncommonly grey hair, then you can examine a few reasons as to why this may have happened. It is good to remember that heredity is one of the largest factors of graying before the age of 35 years. This is normally called premature graying and there is really very little that can be done about it. You should examine your family history and see if there is anyone who had this problem. If so, you can conclude that you have indeed inherited the problem of graying hair.

The other factors that could lead to premature graying are a high stress lifestyle. If you have too much stress and not too much rest to go with it, then you will find yourself turning gray very quickly. If this is the case with you, you will need to cut back on your working hours and see to it that you spend some time de-stressing at least. This is the only way you can at least halt this process if not reverse it altogether. Sometimes, if you live in an excessively polluted environment, you may also find that this results in premature graying of hair. For instance, if the water you are using is particularly rich in chemicals, this could very well result in giving your gray hair. Unfortunately, there is very little you can do about hair that has already changed color. Your best bet is to try and stop further graying. And the only way you can do this is to follow the preventive measures listed above.
