If you want to stop your hair from breaking, you can start by taking extra care about how you treat it. The commonest cause of hair breakage is lack of proper hair care. Sometimes, we have a tendency to neglect our hair completely. This leads to all sorts of problems related to the hair and scalp. You can start following some easy methods to check hair breakage. The first thing is that you should completely avoid tying up your hair tightly. This is the most prominent cause of hair breakage. Sometimes, for the sake of convenience, we simply tie back the hair with a rubber band. This needs to be stopped at once. The reason being that when the hair is tightly tied back, it pulls straight from the root. When done over a period of time, this will tend to weaken the entire shaft. Beyond a point, this will tend to break the hair mid strand. You should completely avoid using rubber bands altogether. If you must tie back your hair, it is better to do so with a clip or a hair grip. This has less chances of pulling at your hair, as opposed to rubber bands. As a matter of fact, if you have to tie up your hair, you can sue the cloth rubber bands instead of regular ones. This will also help to reduce breakage.

The other thing is that if you comb your hair with a fine tooth comb, this will also result in greater hair breakage. Hair strands will get stuck in this and will tend to break frequently and easily. Also, fine tooth combs tend to pull out hair a lot. So you will find that a lot of your hair breaks due to that as well. You should use wide tooth combs only. It is also better to use wooden combs and brushes as opposed to plastic ones. This is because plastic ones will always tend to cause static and will therefore break your hair some more. Wooden combs will on the other hand, work out better for the texture of your hair as well, since they do not provide dryness due to static. Another reason for frequent hair fall is not washing your hair frequently enough. If your hair is left unwashed for too long, then it will weaken at the roots and start falling automatically. Check to see if this reason applies to you.
