Whether you have straight hair or curly hair is decided by your genetic make-up, and remember that whatever you do to change the kind of hair you have, when your hair grows the new hair will be like your original hair. If you have curly hair, then you need to take adequate care of it by using the right kind of shampoos and conditioners and getting the right hair style which suits your face and hair. While it is important to wash your hair regularly, if you have curly hair you can avoid washing daily and avoid blow drying your hair later because that will increase its frizzy nature. Curly hair tends to be more fragile and prone to breakage so you should opt for gentle products and avoid using too many hair products and chemical treatments for your hair. You should also avoid brushing your hair very often, since this can also increase the frizzy nature of your hair. Instead detangle your hair using your fingers.

You should consult a good stylist to get the best hair style for your curly hair and decide whether it's better to straighten your hair or leave it as it is. As far as possible you should avoid doing this at home without consulting a specialist first. However, if you decide to straighten you hair avoid doing it at home and using flat irons on a regular basis since these can harm your hair by making it weak and prone to breakage and hair fall. In order to straighten your hair, you should first wash your hair using a mild shampoo and conditioner and rinse it with cold water to seal in the hair's natural moisture and prevent frizz. Once you have rinsed your hair, apply a good straightening balm on the strands to protect it from damage and then divide your hair in to section of 2 inches each. You can then dry your hair with a blow dryer and concentrating nozzle by working your way up from the bottom to the top. Once your hair is completely dry, divide your hair once again into layers of 1 to 2 inches each, moving from the bottom to the top. You can then, start straightening your hair using a good professional hair straightener till all your hair is straight. Once you have finished straightening your hair, you can apply in a good anti-frizz serum on your hair and some hair spray to style and set it. Remember that this will not be a permanent straightening and that when you wash your hair and new hair grows from the roots it will be like your original hair.
