Why exactly do you want to redden your gums? Gums are not supposed to be red - the natural color of gums is pink, although one individual's gums may be slightly darker or lighter than another's. In fact, if your gums are too red, then they are probably inflamed, and this could be a sign of gum disease. If your gums are pink, then there is no need for you to worry, and you are probably already taking adequate care of them. However, if they are red or sore, or if they tend to bleed regularly, then you should visit your dentist at the earliest.

Ensure that you maintain proper oral hygiene everyday - brushing and flossing need to be done daily, and should be done correctly in order to be effective. The best way to brush your teeth is to hold the brush at a 45 degree angle to your gums, and move the brush in a circular motion, not up and down. Also be sure to clean the chewing surfaces of the teeth, as well as the side facing inside your mouth. Avoid using too much force, or the bristles will end up bending - the tips of the bristles must rub against the teeth in order for brushing to be effective. Using too much force could also damage the tooth enamel, especially if your are using a hard toothbrush. Preferably, use a soft toothbrush, or at least a medium one. Ideally, you should brush your teeth twice a day - at night, just before you go to bed, and in the morning, after breakfast. You may have the habit of brushing your teeth first thing in the morning, but if you brush your teeth at night, this is not necessary. It is more important to brush your teeth after your breakfast, so that the food particles do not stay stuck in your teeth. Flossing is equally important, but is often neglected - make sure that you floss once a day, between each tooth, by using an up and down motion. When flossing, be careful to avoid injuring your gums.

Apart from this, you simply need to maintain good eating habits. Sugary and starchy foods should be limited, as they produce acids that damage the teeth. Whenever you eat such foods, be sure to rinse your mouth immediately afterwards. If you follow these practices, your gums should stay pink and healthy, rather than red.
