If you have had this black mark on your skin for three years now, it might be a little difficult to get rid of it after all this time. With most skin problems, and any health problem in fact, it is better to try to find a solution as soon as the problem starts. Ideally, you should have tried a few home remedies back when the black mark first appeared, and if they didn't work within a couple of months, you should have consulted a skin specialist, or at least asked your doctor about the black mark.

Anyway, it is not too late to do something about the black mark. It is however difficult to diagnose the problem over a forum - with skin problems, it is always helpful to actually see the skin. A physical examination of the affected area makes it easier to diagnose the problem accurately. In this case, you have not provided much of a description either, and without any details, we can only give you a few general suggestions that sometimes work for such problems.

First of all, you need to stop any and all facial products that you are currently using, except perhaps, for your moisturizer. It may be that your make up or some other product is irritating your skin and causing, or at least contributing to, the black mark. Even your moisturizer should be as simple as possible, without any unnecessary perfumes or other ingredients. Petroleum jelly is often the safest and most basic moisturizer, and if you do not find it too messy you can use it.

To get rid of the black mark, you can try rubbing your skin with a mixture of sandalwood powder, turmeric powder, honey, and lemon juice. Mix all four together thoroughly, apply the paste on the affected area, and massage gently with your fingertips. You can do this twice a day - once in the morning, soon after you wake up, and once in the evening, a couple of hours before you go to bed. You can also take a slice of potato and gently rub it on your skin for a few minutes, once a day. Besides this, you simply need to make sure that you drink plenty of water daily, and eat a healthy, balanced diet that includes lots of fruits and vegetables. If the black mark remains even after following these measures for a month, you should consult a dermatologist.
