Bumps on skin remedy
I have small red bumps along the back of my arms and legs. I have had this problem with my arms for a couple of years and now it is on my outer and inner thighs. What is it and how do I get rid of it?

Natural Treatment for Bumps on Skin
The symptoms you mentioned indicate that you have a skin condition known as Keratosis pilaris. It occurs when dead skin cells (that normally flake off to form fine dust) are left behind and form plugs that block the hair follicles. These then form small bumps and have a dry feeling when touched. Although it seems inflamed it does not itch or hurt. This skin condition is absolutely harmless and gets worse when the skin dries out winter, during pregnancy and after child birth.
Keratosis pilaris is not contagious and is generally inherited, having no relation to the imbalance of hormones or sebaceous glands. Though the condition is harmless very little is known about the causes of the skin condition and it is best to let it heal itself or you can use over the counter medication. One of the most common prescriptions are glycolic acid or lactic acid, which are both effective in treating the bumps. A diet remedy to treat it is to consume foods rich in vitamin A or take multivitamin pills. It is recommended that you consult your physician before you try these medications.
