There are several ways to approach this problematic, but not unique complaint. But in order to use the correct approach, you need to determine a few things beforehand. The first thing is that you should be certain that this is not a genetic trait. If this is so, then you may have problems trying to lighten the color of your lips. Nevertheless, it can certainly be done. The second thing you should determine is whether you have dark lips because of excessive sun tanning. If this is the case, you would have to simply adopt certain preventive measures to take care of the situation. In any and all cases, make it a rule never leave your home without covering your lips with suntan lotion. This will at least ensure that your skin stops darkening due to exposure to excessive sunlight.

You can try a few methods at home to take care of this problem. The first thing to do is make a paste of red rose petals and apply this to your lips. This is a known remedy to make your lips red in color. Please note that this will not show results in a week or two. You would have to make it a habit to do this on a daily basis and then wait for months to see the difference. Another excellent natural and dietary approach is to apply a thick paste of milk cream and saffron strands to your lips. You should soak the saffron strands in the milk cream overnight and rub them together in the morning before applying for best results. This combination will also make the skin on your lips more supple and soft. The good part about these two remedial measures is that they can be easily consumed as well without any problems.

You can also try to lighten the color of your lips by applying a layer of bleach to them. It is always wiser to use natural bleaching agents like lime juice for this purpose. But do keep in mind that lime juice is photosynthetic in nature and if you apply it and go out into the sun directly, it may have the reverse effect instead. You can also use organic apple cider vinegar for the same purpose. Remember to dilute it with rose water so that you do not have to suffer from burning of the skin. These methods should help to lighten the color of your lips.
