Before you begin to do anything about it, please keep in mind that if you have herpes, there is really no cure for it, per se. Herpes is the kind of problem that can come and go, and it may sometimes not even resurface for months or years at a time. There are also several methods available for providing relief from the various symptoms of herpes. But there is no definite cure from it. To begin with, there are two types of herpes. One is genital herpes, which is caused and transmitted by sexual contact. The other is the kind that comes from cold sores that are usually in and around the mouth area. If you are troubled by genital herpes, it is essential that you follow good hygiene in your daily life. Make it a point to wash your genitals with warm water and an anti bacterial soap at least thrice a day, and more if possible. As alternatives to soap, which you may require if you are troubled with over sensitive skin, you can also use diluted apple cider vinegar or hydrogen peroxide. The dilution should be one part to 10 parts of water. This will sanitize your genitals and help to stop the spread of the infection. The next thing to do is to drink as much water as you can. This will make you flush out toxins via excessive urination. This is also the safest method to get rid of a large number of infections and related discomfort. You must also make it a point to avoid sexual contact while the virus is actively manifested in your body. This will prevent its spread. You must make it a point to wear cotton underwear only. This will help by allowing your skin in affected areas to breathe easily and maintain a supply of fresh air. This does not allow sweat to accumulate in your genitals and will help with healing you faster. You must also avoid wearing tight clothes because this will also prevent quick healing. Pour hot (not boiling hot) water on the affected areas. This will provide relief as well as help with healing. You can also apply live cultures of yogurt on the affected areas. The active bacteria will feed off your fungal infection and bring it to an end. Please keep in mind that herpes can hit you anytime. Once you have had it, the virus stays dormant in your body for nearly half a century.
