My second session of IPL on my bikini area left me with red, itchy bumps - no puss - How can I treat this without leaving any scars or irritating my skin even more?

There are several easy and effective ways to get rid of red itchy bumps on any part of your body. Since you know the cause, you would also not need to try out methods of trial and error that typically occur in such cases. To begin with, you can apply a paste of sandalwood and rose water to the irritated area. This will bring relief to the affected area at once. Both sandalwood as well as rose water are cooling and soothing agents that will help to reduce the itchiness and will also go a long way towards healing the skin. You can try this remedy for about three days. If it does not work in this time, then it is advisable for you to go back to the person who administered IPL to you. In case you are suffering from an allergic reaction, this is the best course of action to follow. It could be that you have sensitive skin which will only react properly to treatment provided by those who know what the problems of IPL treatments are.

There are also some other general home remedies you can follow to check the growth of this skin reddening and bumps in the area. Make a paste of turmeric powder and rose water and apply this to the affected area. Keep in mind that turmeric stains do not come out, so you should wear clothing accordingly. Turmeric also has excellent healing properties that can help you considerably. It is also advisable that you drink a glass of hot milk to which a teaspoon of turmeric has been added. It is better to do this at night so the turmeric can work within your body quickly and effectively. Sometimes, it is also possible that your skin has reacted to some kind of synthetic material you may be wearing. Especially after an IPL session, make it a point to wear loose clothing and preferably, stick to cottons. This will not allow sweat to accumulate and thus react adversely with your skin which is already in a delicate area to begin with. For soothing the skin, you can also apply calamine or calendula lotion. This will provide tremendous relief. Coconut oil is also considered to be a highly effective and useful product to use in case you have any skin ailments. It is rich in quality and texture and also has general healing properties. Besides, it will also moisturize your skin very well.
