Warts of any kind must first be checked out by a doctor. This is particularly important if you are over the age of 30, and the warts have erupted for no apparent reason. It is good to know that warts can be a sign of many things, most notably skin cancer. Whether or not you have any problem of the kind, however, will only be determined by a doctor upon examination. There are several ways to get rid of warts. The easiest and fastest way is, of course, surgery. However, you should know that surgery is not a fool proof method. It provides no guarantee that the warts will not resurface after some point. As a matter of fact, the only stream of medicine that offers a cure for warts is homeopathy. A medication called Tuja, which can be consumed orally, is effective for getting rid of warts. It is important however, that you only take this under medical guidance. This is because administration of the medicine would depend totally upon your medical history. The dosage is also specified in accordance with your height, weight and lifestyle. Tuja is also available in over the counter dosage, but you should know that this will take twice as long to work for you. In any case, you can hardly expect miraculous results with this medicine overnight. Though it will certainly remove your warts, it works very slowly, sometimes taking months or even years to show effect. You should be prepared for this if you want a permanent solution.

Some home remedies for getting rid of warts may also be tried out. It is commonly believed that if you apply castor oil to your warts, they will “choke” away. You can also apply tape to them after applying the castor oil for better results. This usually takes a few days to show effects. Another effective way is to make a paste of plain chalk powder and rose water and apply this to your warts. The chalk powder will make the wart fall off, but it may cause a burning sensation. This can be soothed with the cooling properties of rose water. Application of diluted tea tree oil is also a very good way of getting rid of warts. You can simply dab it and leave it on. But make sure you do not do this more than once a day. This is because tea tree oil is a very strong substance and may harm your skin if applied frequently.
